Interesting & collectable sterling silver Ceremonial Presentation Trowel relating to the small town of Abercarn, Caerphilly, South Wales. It is hallmarked Sheffield 1914 by Walker & Hall. The blade of the trowel is beautifully engraved-decorated around the edge with the prevention inscription reading. MEREDITH, CHAIRMAN of the FIRE BRIGADE COMMITTEE to commemorate the laying OF THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE NEW FIRE STATION AT ABERCARN. The trowel comes with its original moulded presentation case in leatherette, silk & velvet by Walker & Hall.
