Edwardian Sterling Silver Welsh Ceremonial Presentation Key Trophy. Blaina 1908

  

I was fortunate recently to be able to acquire a large collection of Ceremonial Presentation Keys which I presume represented the lifetime collection of an individual. Most are in sterling silver; some are gilded and many are still with their original presentation cases. I will be listing these keys individually over the next few weeks & this particular key is as follows. Large, impressive sterling silver Ceremonial Presentation Key in its original moulded presentation case By Walker & Hall.

The second cartouche is not engraved. Maker's Mark: Walker & Hall. Blaina: A small town situated deep in the South Wales valleys between Brynmawr and Abertillery, Blaenau, Gwent. The population is 4,808. Summary: Ceremonial Presentation Keys are very collectable & this is a superb example.
