Green & Co who manufactured in Birmingham and had a retail outlet in London's prestigious Hatton Garden district. We assume that Green & Co ordered the mirror from Walker & Hall and then added their own mark, which was common practice.
Overall condition is good with just a few little dings in the back of the mirror. The deeply bevelled mirror glass is in very good condition. Please make sure to view all the photographs as these form part of the description. The hand mirror is of a substantial size measuring 35.7cm / 14ins in length and 10.5cm / 4.1ins in width. It weighs in at 379.6g / 13.4oz. The hallmarks, just below the mirror glass, are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter J for 1933, the W & H makers' mark for Walker & Halll and the overstruck CSG & Co in a shield sponsors' mark for Charles S. In addition there is a registered design number of 733284, which dates the original design to 1927.
